Stop assuming. Work with verified facts instead. Watch the video or keep reading to learn more.
Many of my clients have no idea where they stand with their manager.
They try to piece together what they think their manager wants from them from a lot of disparate clues that really may not be a great starting point for figuring this out.
For some of my clients, I discover that their manager has shared direct feedback with them about what they're doing well and what they want them to focus on.
But instead of taking that at face value, my clients have chosen to focus on some signals that they think they're getting from their manager instead.
I'm sure you can already guess that I'll say that working with a corrupt data set like this is not an ideal place to start in identifying the actions that are going to gain you the success that you want at work.
If you really don't know where you stand with your manager, the simplest way to find out is to schedule a one-to-one session with them and have some questions prepared. That way you're dealing with real answers instead of working from assumptions. A good manager will be glad that you made the effort to clear up any misunderstanding.
If you want to lead with confidence at work, schedule your Confidence Catalyst session with me today to break through one challenge, decision, or opportunity at work – all in just one session.
