Is imposter syndrome stunting your career growth? 🎭

What happens when you're confident in your capabilities – while simultaneously worried about being exposed for not being capable enough?
Most of my clients call that imposter syndrome.
Most of my clients feel alone in their imposter syndrome-like thoughts, even though studies show that at least 70% of us will experience imposter syndrome at some point in our careers.
So why does it feel like you're the only one?

Maybe that’s because most of us have learned to function with it – gotten used to the low hum of self-doubt. We feel like we're managing it "well enough."
In response to that voice that tells us, "you need to do more," we push harder. We overwork. We overachieve.
And when we hit a milestone or accomplish something big, we not only minimize it, we attribute the win to the pressure – believing that our inner critic drove our success.
But here's the truth:
The success that comes with imposter syndrome is limited and doesn't last
The cost – your energy, your confidence, your joy, quickly outweighs the return. The ROI just isn’t there.
Imposter syndrome limits career growth
I often see imposter syndrome hit my clients hardest after a big career move: 💎 Landing the promotion
💎 Accepting a new role
💎 Leaving an unhealthy workplace for a better fit
Instead of feeling proud or excited, imposter syndrome crashes in with fear, guilt, and second-guessing:
❓ Should I have just stuck it out?
❓ Did I take the easy way out?
❓ Did I fail at my job in some way?
❓ What should I have done differently?
That voice wants to keep you in place – safe from the risks that come with visibility, challenge, and growth.
But the cost? Staying stuck, playing small, or burning out trying to outrun self-doubt.
Imposter syndrome disregards your past success. It acts like none of your experience counts. Deep down, you know that can't be true – but that doesn't help stop that imposter syndrome voice.
Let Go of Imposter Syndrome – and See What's Really Possible
I love helping clients quiet the imposter syndrome voice and build better ways to support themselves. If you’re ready to let go of imposter syndrome and see what’s really possible for you, let's talk.
